Organic dairy is all we've ever done. Founded in 1991, we were already a well-established organic leader long before the national organic regulations were put in place. In fact, our founders played a key role in helping to develop the National Organic Standards and the U.S.D.A. Organic Seal. Today, as the organic industry evolves, Horizon Organic® continues to lead with insight, integrity and unwavering commitment to organic principles.

Our company was founded on the belief that farmers deserve to know where their milk is going — and consumers deserve to know where it originated. Over the years, we've always maintained a dedicated milk supply and nurtured a direct relationship with each of the hundreds of farms in our network. And we're committed to keeping it that way.
- Through our Horizon Organic Producer Education (HOPE) program, we work with more than
515 organic dairyfarmers across the country.
- 80% of our milk comes from our growing community of family farms. The rest
is supplied by our two company-owned organic farms.
- We are currently working with 167 family farmers in the transition process to organic.
- We only accept milk from farms that are certified according to the National Organic
Program regulations, and that support the spirit and integrity of those standards.
- We offer our farmer partners the choice to maintain membership in a local cooperative,
or to ship milk independently to Horizon Organic.
Our values begin on the farm, and grow naturally from there. We're proud to support many
environmental and social causes.
- We regularly sponsor sustainable agriculture events in the regions our farmers call home.
