The Organic Cow of Vermont® Celebrates 15th Anniversary
Organic Dairy Brand Continues Support
for Clip for a Clean New England with $75,000 Donation
January, 2005

BOULDER, Colo., January, 2005 - In 2005, The Organic Cow of Vermont® brand celebrates 15 years of providing organic milk to New England as New England's original organic milk brand.

As part of the 15-year anniversary, the Organic Cow of Vermont aims to raise $75,000 through its Clip for a Clean New England program for Earth Share of New England - an increase of $25,000 from 2004. This is the third year of a collaborative fundraising effort, whereby The Organic Cow of Vermont donates 50 cents per carton top collected from any of the company's milk products.

“The Organic Cow of Vermont cares deeply about the health and heritage of New England and its families. That's why, for 15 years, we've been bringing New Englanders organic milk produced without added growth hormones, antibiotics and harmful pesticides. Now, by partnering with Earth Share of New England, we are able to further fulfill our mission and give back to the communities and families we serve,” says Caragh McLaughlin, senior brand manager. “With the Clip for a Clean New England program, local residents can proactively impact the future of their land and livelihood. By simply clipping the top of our milk cartons and sending collected strips to us, New England residents are helping nurture and sustain the land we've been a part of for the past 15 years.”

For dairy farmers like Ralph Caldwell, this program demonstrates why producing organic milk for the brand makes sense. “The Organic Cow of Vermont has been a true partner to my family for six years,” says Caldwell, an organic dairy producer whose cows provide milk for The Organic Cow of Vermont. “We have the same vision. We care about the land, the people and the health of families in New England. It's that simple.”

Funds raised through the Clip for a Clean New England program are donated to Earth Share of New England, a coalition of national, regional and community environmental and conservation non-profit organizations. Created in 1992, Earth Share of New England has raised more than $2 million to care for public health and the air, water, land and wildlife in the Northeast and across the country.

“The Clip for a Clean New England program provides an opportunity to educate consumers about how they can help protect the earth,” says Kalman Stein, President and CEO of Earth Share. “Through partnerships with brands like The Organic Cow of Vermont, we can help to protect and preserve our vital natural resources and the land we love for our generation and future generations.”
