In 2007, we kept more than 17 million pounds of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer out of the environment.

Horizon Organic offsets all of the electricity used to produce our products with clean, renewable wind power. The amount of wind power Horizon Organic purchases eliminates 17,500 tons of polluting greenhouse gas emissions each year. That's like taking 3,500 cars off the road.

Wind Makes Sense

Wind power is clean. More wind power means less smog, toxic pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. By investing in wind energy we reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

Wind power is inexhaustible. The total amount of electricity that could potentially be generated from wind power in the United States has been estimated at 10,777 billion kWh annually – three times the electricity generated in the U.S. today.

Wind power can help family farmers. The U.S. has abundant wind power right in our own backyard, like the rural areas of the Great Plains. Wind power brings jobs, which help revitalize rural communities and bolster a family farm's income.

Wind power is an investment in the future. Building the potential for wind power requires substantial funds to purchase wind turbines. Our investment in wind energy creates NEW wind farms for tomorrow.
